THE INSPIRATION
LIFE'S PRINCIPLE OF BALANCE : DUALITY
INSPIRED BY ADVERSITY
Isolated, confused, and scared are a few emotions that people living with PTSD, mental health, and social issues deal with. Finding ways to manage our stressors and triggers can been an exhausting journey, both physically and mentally. Oddly enough, one of the most isolating, confusing, and scary times in recent history not only inspired us to make personal lifestyle changes, but it was also the inspiration for an outlet. This is the story of Laud!
THE LOCKDOWN
During the "Covid lockdown" it appeared to be common theme that the family dynamic seemed to strengthen nationwide. This made me think about how tragedy is often accompanied by a positive energy shift in other aspects of our lives.
These observations led me to realize that regardless of how tough and confusing the situations that we're facing may seem, there is always an equal and opposite force working to restore balance.
THE EPIPHANY
Most of us have heard of Newton's 3rd law which states that "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Examples of balance exists all around us but we often ignore the signs:
- the sun and the moon
- joy and pain
- night and day
- woman and man
- good times vs bad times
In this life, one opposition cannot exist without the other, under life's principle of balance-DUALITY!
THE CONNECTION
When we experience hard times, it can be tough for us to understand the "what" and the "why." What did I do to deserve this? Why is this happening to me? That's because we ignore Newton's law. If there is something bad happening to you, it's because you are being prepared for the good. If you lost that job, life is opening you up for the opportunity that was designed for you! You had to break up with your partner because your soulmate is looking for you. The honest truth is that you will not be able to fully appreciate your blessings if adversity didn't first prepare you to receive them!
THE STAMP
If you look at the bottom of a handstamp, you will see words or objects in reverse (esrever) order which can be confusing, but when something gets stamped, that stamp's purpose is revealed. We often view the hard times in front of us as the complete opposite of its intended purpose. The hard times that we're facing is confusing because our purpose has not yet been revealed.
THE BRAND
Many people who suffer from PTSD, mental health, and social issues tend to isolate themselves and limit the way that they communicate. We wanted to create a way for you to express yourselves in a comfortable and relatable manner-similar to a therapist wanting to help their patient learn the problem and address it.
Our designs are relatable, and they connect likeminded people in a nonverbal way, which subtly helps them to address their social isolation issues. This allows people to express themselves in a mannerism of comfort, both mentally and physically. We consider ourselves mental health fashion therapist, only the medicine that we prescribe are messages of hope on the clothing.
